Author's note
After years of helping patients smile again, I realized many were also hiding emotional pain. This was when I decided to write my book “Before the Tsunami” for those who are both emotionally and financially unprepared to face the challenges of divorce.
Writing Before the Tsunami was deeply a personal journey of one the most challenging periods of my life – my divorce, but with the wisdom I didn’t have at the time. Initially, I took it as the worst part of my life, but later on, I realized that it gave me a lot of lessons for life and started this book with the hope of guiding others with clarity and resilience.
Every tip I share grew from late-night chats with friends who felt lost in the system, or from my own messy first attempts at co-parenting and budgeting. I spoke with counsellors, financial planners and dozens of people who’d been through divorce. Their stories—funny, sad and sometimes surprisingly hopeful—shape nearly every page. My hope is that you’ll find a hand to hold before the waves crash in.
